How to remove Dog Urine Smell
Hi, I am Ken the Odor Dude and I am a full time odor removal expert with over 10 years experience in the field of removing dog urine smells and most other odors.

Question.”How do I know what area to treat with urine neutralizer and how do I find the exact location”?
Answer. “You need to spray the areas you think are affected with a product (my formula is ideal) that reacts with the bacteria and foams white on contact with the dog urine which in turn shows you exactly where to treat with more of the same product.”
Here is an example of a vehicle carpet that has a small amount of old urine in it. Note the light white foaming after a small amount of chemical has been sprayed on the carpet.
Note the wet area that is not foaming.
Question.”Once I have found the dog urine, what is the correct procedure to remove the urine and the odor”?
Answer. “To remove the urine you need to carry out a very simple 3 step process we call extracting. see below for exact details”
Step One.
The first step is to mix up some odor neutralizer. (see my formula link top right hand side of the website) This costs very little so you can afford to be generous, I usually use a 5-10 pint container approximately and once mixed i pour the product onto the affected area.
Step two
Let the product sit in the carpet until the foaming has stopped . This will depend on how much urine there is and how old it is. For example as shown below is a serious contamination. The foaming lasted 20 minutes and the product ate the urine and removed the odor.
Step 3
Once the foaming stops, use a wet vac to extract the residues or some old folded towels which will absorb the neutralized urine.
Fold the towels and then stand on them to remove the urine.
Alternatively if you have a wet vacuum cleaner then use that to extract the urine after the foaming stops. See a live example below

If the urine is into the cloth rear seats of my car, and I assume it is probably deep into the cushion. This is a one time issue. Does this produce work to get the deep odor out?

We looked at a potential home to buy and it was perfect except for the fact that I could smell that a dog has lived in there.
It’s not pee, but that smell that comes from the oil in their skin and scent glands. Sort of like a wet dog smell. It’s their body odor that they normally secrete, so it’s not pee or poop.
Will this concoction get rid of that body odor smell as well?
We’re considering just removing all carpets and just replacing it and the padding with brand new carpet and disinfecting the baseboards and wall.

so what does one get for the $9.99? I just spent $140 getting 2 small rooms of carpet cleaned & deoderized. The 1st 2 days while damp, the carpet in my living room stunk to high heaven of dog pee! After it completely dried I stuck my nose in one area & sniffed. They just recleaned it for the 2nd time this week using a spay called ‘EOC’, an enzyme. I hv no faith in this #1 company in Arizona, even with a 30 day warrenty. Sooo, what exactly is ur offer? Is it made with home ingrediants or do u send a bottle of?

THANK YOU! Formula is the greatest cos it works and no more pee pee smell! It even got rid of the pee pee smell on the mop head. You have no idea how it saved me from going totally insane because all I could smell before was Dog urine and I was constantly mopping and going though many mop heads. Now I can finally relax!
btw, when mopping with the formula, do you have to then remop with just water or is it safe to leave it and let it dry?

I need to get the dog urine smell out of my carpets so that my dog will not continue to pee on them. It’s a whole room that I have to do. This has been a problem for a few years now and I am sure is through the carpets, padding, and onto the subflooring. Will this be something that will take care of this issue?

I have tried many homemade remedies and store bought products and none seem to have worked. I have large areas of old urine odors and stains as well as runny poop stains. I would like to hear from people who have actually used this product; I am kind of leary of buying this when the majority of the emails are from people who say they have bought the product and have not received the recipe for the “formula”.

After reading the comments, I decided to give this a shot. I figured I’d dropped $10 on many other cleaners, why not this one? I have 5 miniature Dachshunds & a job with odd hours. We have accidents.
I poured this product over my tile & spread it with my mop. I also used it on engineered hardwood floors. AMAZING!!!! I haven’t tried it on my real hardwoods & I don’t have carpet but this is A STEAL!!! It works great! On my tile, I will need to do it again, but like I said, I have 5 Dachshunds.

I cant figure out if this will work outside. I have 100+pound dog and a very small yard. The grass is dead now and on hot days especially the scent is overwhelming. Will it work on dirt, grass, small landscaping rocks?

Hi Judi. Very fair comments you make and yes it is true I don’t get alot of people raving on here about how marvellous it is. They tend to use the contact us form which means it does not display on the site. You get a formulation (2 actually one for old urine and one for new) a video and text showing how to make it and use it, the cost is minimal as the ingredients are very cheap to buy, you could get a batch made for approx $1-00 and get started. hope that helps

Ken my problem is the tenant left the dog in the garage unattended so there is urine all over the place along with dog feces. How can I eliminate this odor without being so expensive?
This is very cheap to make and for concrete you can make it stronger as there is no carpet to consider. Perfect for your situation

Sorry I should be more specific, I wont be able to use towels to stand on and soak it up etc. So can you just pour the formula over the large areas and wait for it to dry?

I have pulled all carpets and padding. Is your formulation one that can be put in a sprayer and sprayed thru-out the house onto the subflooring? . The product is safe around children. just keep them out of the room when applying it and don’t let them crawl on the area (it will be wet anyway)
No problems with anything residual that will hurt anybody so all good. You can put into spray bottles but use all that is in the bottle i.e don;t keep it.
Re couch it won’t stain but if you are concerned spot test a small area first. No problems yet with that

Hi best way is to put the formula into a GARDEN WATERING CAN AND DOUSE IT LIBERALLY. Opps caps sorry. Once dry flush the floor with warm water and extract it (suck it up) with a wet vacuum. this way you will have a clean substrate to seal.
